01.01.1970 //Robot PILOT: NASA will obtain oxygen from the lunar soil.
It is known that one of the possible methods of supply oxygen of future lunar base is the output of oxygen directly from the lunar soil. To realize this possibility is called project NASA by the name PILOT (Precursor to In- sieve Lunar Oxygen Testbed). One of the key elements of this project is robot- digger, capable of producing search and output of lunar soil with the high oxygen content. Further, this soil will be delivered to the special factory, where the process of oxygen evolution will occur. The process of obtaining oxygen consists in saturation of soil by hydrogen and subsequent heating to 900 degree Celsiuss for the purpose of obtaining condensate. Unfortunately, until there are no tentative it is timetable the realization of project.
