Robot and robotechnology news
01.01.1970 //Robots will operate cosmonauts.
The group of French surgeons will conduct into the medium the first in the history surgical operation under weightlessness conditions. Experiment will become the aspect of the scale research project, final goal of which is the creation of robot- surgeons, capable of making simple operations to astronauts during space flights. The operation, in the course of which to patient- volunteer will be removed small lipoma to the forearm, will be carried out aboard specially developed for the recreation of weightlessness conditions of the aircraft Of ae00 Zero- G. During the experiment the aircraft, which flies above the territory of France, will have to carry out order 30 maneuvers, in course of which in the salon will appear the zero-gravity periods with extent about 20 seconds. Specifically, at these moments group of six surgeons will conduct surgical manipulations, ceasing the work, when weightlessness will disappear. According to the leader of experiment doctor Dominic martan (Dominique Martin), the operation in terms of the removal of the lipoma of forearm is relatively simple: it does not present danger for the health of patient and it is carried out under the local anesthesia. Furthermore, the volunteer of Philipp sancho (Philippe Sanchot) selected by experimenters is fascinated by bandzhi-dzhampingom (leaps from a high altitude on the elastic rope) and it is well adapted to the sharp jumps of gravity. During the operation the patient and his operating surgeons will be solidly fastened to the walls of the aircraft passenger cabin, and surgical tools will be retained on the spot with the aid of the special magnets. Despite the fact that the doctors will carry out operation by their hands, final goal of the study, within the framework of which the experiment is conducted, appears the development of the devices, capable of carrying out surgical operations in space with remote control from the earth, reported doctor martan. "on board the space station astronaut can be required urgent surgical intervention, for example, the removal of intracranial hematoma. At present this is impossible, although this operation it could carry out sufficiently simple robot ". - explained Martan. Subsequently it is planned to use robots for the operations in the distant expeditions on the earth.
